Foals played the Other Stage at Glastonbury this evening (27th July), and attracted such a sizeable audience the band were taken aback.
Wow, theres so many of you, said frontman Yannis Philippakis, From up here it looks mythical. As they played a raucous version of Cassius their intricate math-rock music suddenly seemed anthemic, and the crowd bounced accordingly.
Rain briefly lashed down and Yannis declared, We havent brought any wellies. Bad move. Not that the crowd minded as Hummer and Red Socks Pugie helped shrug the rain off.
Leaving to one of the best receptions of the day, Yannis felt moved to say, Youve made this very special for us. Thank you.
Foals played:
XXXX
French Open
Cassius
Olympic Airways
Balloons
Heavy Water
2 Step
Hummer
Red Socks Pugie
Mathletics
Electric Bloom
